Claim Ledger Audit Studio

An eight-module immersion that treats claim finance like a continuous audit trail — from first notice to recovery close.

What you will practice

Participants work through anonymized claim finance packs that resemble exports from a financial auditing app for insurance claim finance reviews. You will reconcile indemnity, expense, salvage, and recoverables while documenting each exception as if an external auditor were reading over your shoulder.

  • 01

    Notice & coding hygiene

How early miscodes cascade into reserve and recovery errors — and which app filters catch them first.

  • 02

    Case reserve bridges

Building a bridge from claim system reserve to finance booking, including timing differences.

  • 03

    Payment & fee allocation

Testing settlement packages for indemnity vs. ALAE splits and vendor fee leakage.

  • 04

    Salvage & subrogation posting

Tracing recoveries into the ledger and spotting stale open recoverables.

  • 05

    Reinsurance touchpoints

How facultative and treaty recoverables should appear in a claim finance review workspace.

  • 06

    Working paper craft

Exception logs, sampling rationale, and escalation notes that survive peer review.

  • 07

    App workflow rehearsal

Guided drills on review queues, bulk flags, and export packs for internal audit.

  • 08

    Capstone file defense

Present a full review of one complex claim to instructors and cohort peers.

Learning outcomes

A

Reconcile claim system to ledger

Independently produce a reserve and payment bridge that finance and claims can both defend.

B

Prioritize review queues

Use materiality and aging logic to decide which files deserve deep scrutiny in a review app.

C

Document exceptions cleanly

Write exception notes that name the control failure, not just the numeric difference.

Learner notes

“Module 04 forced us to admit our salvage aging report was decorative. We rebuilt it before the capstone.”

I came for the app rehearsal and stayed for the working-paper standards. The reinsurance module moved faster than I hoped — I still keep the handout on my desk, though.

FAQ

Do I need an existing review app license?

No. We use training datasets and mock screens. If your firm already runs a financial auditing app for insurance claim finance reviews, you can map our checkpoints onto it afterward.

Is this suitable for first-year analysts?

Comfort with basic claim terminology helps. Pure accounting newcomers often struggle in modules 05–06; we recommend at least six months in claim finance or internal audit.

What is a real limitation of this course?

We do not teach actuarial IBNR modeling. Reserve work here is about bridges, aging, and documentation — not selecting development factors. Teams that need deep actuarial methods should pair this studio with a separate actuarial curriculum.

How is pricing handled?

Amounts on this page are informational. Enrollment is arranged by invoice after you contact us — there is no payment form on Sysnetops.
